Cynthia Frias

Dancer | Actor | Choreographer

Born and raised in the city of San Antonio, Texas. Since the moment she could walk, dancing was in the picture. Whether it would be in the living room, grocery store aisles, or friends birthday parties. Even as a little girl, every time Cynthia got asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, the answer was always a dancer. At that moment her parents knew Cynthia had to be put into class, and at the age of 5 was when it all began. Along with being a competition dancer and assistant teacher at her studio, Cynthia proceeded to further her career by attending the North East School of Arts as a dance major for her high school years.

Cynthia graduated from Oklahoma City University's Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment where she received her Bachelor's of Performing Arts in Dance Performance and minor in Spanish on May 2017. At OCU, she has had the pleasure of studying under many reputable professors and performing as a company member for the American Spirit Dance Company.

During the summer of 2015, Cynthia had the pleasure of making her professional debut as a dancer for TEXAS! The Outdoor Musical at the Amphitheater in Canyon, TX.

In the summer of 2016, Cynthia took on the new challenge of performing as the roles of Elmo and Abby Cadabby along with a face dancer for the Sesame Street Bay of Play at Sea World San Antonio.

Shortly after graduating college, Cynthia had the opportunity of doing contracts with Disney Cruise Line going from the Magic vessel during the year of 2017-2018 vessel to the Wonder vessel for 2018-2019. She did various performing roles among the ship throughout the different venues they offer.  As well as having been part of the opening cast for two new shows the Wonder vessel is now offering.

During the fall/winter season of 2019 Cynthia was performing as a dancer, parade performer, and serving as a swing for Sea World San Antonio’s Howl O’ Scream season and got offered to extend through the Christmas Celebration season. Once the year of 2021 came along, she was able to be part of the relaunch for the Sesame Street parades as a dancer.

Most recently, she completed her 5th year with Disney Cruise Line performing among the various venues the ship has to offer, continued growing in her leadership role of line captain for her cast, and had the pleasure of stepping up as Character Manager for the Entertainment department.

Since moving back to San Antonio, Cynthia has continued her passion for dance in the form of teaching the younger generation. Throughout the last few years, she has had guest taught across Texas and produced award winning choreography for various High School Varsity, Junior Varsity Dance Teams, and for the competitive team of her home dance studio where she is a full time instructor. Among teaching, she also is an adjudicator for Platinum National Dance Competition.

Cynthia would like to thank her teachers and professors for helping her and guiding her throughout her career. She would like to especially thank her friends and loving family for the endless amount of support and encouragement.
